JANEL PINEDA is a Los Angeles-born poet and activist who writes about her family’s experiences as immigrants who fled the Salvadoran Civil War. She is a Macondista and a founding editor of La Piscucha Magazine. Janel’s poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Latino Book Review, Winter Tangerine, wildness, and The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the U.S. She has performed her poetry internationally and she has been featured in The Huffington Post, Teen Vogue, Los Angeles Magazine and more.
